AFGHANISTAN has apparently discovered a massive oilfield that multiplies by ten its current proven reserves.

But before the nowarforoilers scream "Aha!", it's a good idea to put the numbers in perspective. We're talking about 1.8 billion barrels which are allegedly found. And, as the article says, "By comparison, Saudi Arabia had proven reserves of 264.6 billion barrels at the end of 2009, according to BP Plc data." If one would try control the flux of such a vital product, it's be Riyahd, not Kabul, where they'd be looking into.
